A heartfelt thanks to all of you who took the time to try my messy little demo during this past weekend! I’ve got an absolutely massive amount of feedback to work through and implement for future builds and I’m super excited to make MELON the best game it can be! Even though the demo was full of issues this meant a lot to me!
hi, i tried your MELON demo, and i want to give some feedback. First of all the artwork is beautiful, and the style is lovely. The characters and the animations are nice. There are some problems (i know it is a demo): the UI is a bit unintuitive, i was seriously lost in the menu until i found out the keymap(to look up the keymap was hard). traveling through doors was also frustrating to find out (interact does not work, only move up), after that i got stuck while swimming. I hope this helps.

Thank you, I’ve gotten a lot of similar feedback, but I appreciate it none the less :) (Holding directional button + jump button makes you swim, the swimming is very VERY work in progress) :P

Did a small update to make a few things easier in the very beginning and solved a bug where pressing Z in the intro would break the game (because of a stupid debug feature.) If you downloaded the old version I’d recommend redownloading :)

Goddamn it, why does time speed up the older you get?
Wrote 4 lines of dialogue for the ending of Melon yesterday (which is really far off still.) I cried like a child. Maybe it’s just me being very attached to the game (probably) but if I can pull off the narrative I’m going for it’s gonna be sick.
Enter the ruined halls of the Owl, Lord of all the Birds, Wisest, Most Ancient is He. The Final Oracle, the Last Scholar of the Great Calamity. Heed his counsel and prevent the same fate his kind once suffered.
Heyooo have some gameplay! This represents some of the moveset Melon will have available early-midgame. Still lacks a lot of Juice™ but the gameplay comes across :)

The relationship between Melon and Mint is one of the fundamental cornerstones of the game’s narrative. Can’t wait to invite you all on the journey with them! :3
